Giro d'Italia Weekend

The fight for pink; Watch the 2012 Giro d’Italia and test yourself on the legendary climbs of the Mortirolo, Gavia and Passo dello Stelvio.

On Saturday May 26th 2012, the penultimate stage of the Giro D'Italia will finish on the Passo dello Stelvio pass (2757m) for first time since 2005. Last years race was blown apart by Aberto Contador in the first week and, with this clearly in mind, the organisers of the 2012 Giro have designed a route that should see all the pre-race favourites still in contention into the final stages of the race.

We have put together a unique trip that will allow you to watch the penultimate and possibly deciding stage of the Giro on the Passo dello Stelvio and, as you would expect from a GPM10 trip, test yourself against some legendary climbs by riidnng the Mortirolo and Gavia the day before the stage. The Mortirolo averages over 10% for 12.5 kilometres with sections of the climb reaching over 20%. The Gavia is 17.3 kilometres averaging 7.9%, with sections of 16%. We would certainly recommend a compact chainset !

Our base for the duration of the trip will be a tried and tested ‘Alpine Chic Hotel’ with a great ambience which, combined with our renowned logistical and on the road support, will make for a memorable weekend. Note: Space is limited to 10 clients and you should have previous experince of riding in the mountains.
