Le Tour de France with Sigma Sport

Ride over 8000 meters of vertical through three countries in three days and experience the biggest bike race in world with Sigma Sport and GPM10.

The Haute Savoie and the base for GPM10 operations will host three stages of the 2009 TDF including the final individual time trial around the spectacular Lake Annecy. GPM10 will be running a very special trip for Sigma Sport clients to ride stage 16 of the tour (one day a head of the race) with the same level of support as the pros and watch 2 high mountain stages and the final ITT. The trip includes accommodation for four nights three of which will be  at La Ferme du Chozal Hotel - a traditional Beaufortain farmhouse situated in the picturesque mountain village of Hauteluce.

Sunday July 19 - Arrival into Geneva

Transfer (2 hours approx.) to the beautiful lakeside village of Champex lac situated above Martigny high up in the Swiss Alps

Monday - Martigny to Bourg-Saint-Maurice 160km

After breakfast, we assemble and check bikes before setting off to ride stage 16 of the 2009 Tour de France. The stage departs in Switzerland passing through Italy over the Col du Grand St Bernard (2,473m) and the Col de Petit St Bernard (2,188m) back into France for the finish in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. After the ride (and a few beers) we will transfer (1hour approx) to Hauteluce with view across to the Mont Blanc and our base for the next three nights.

Tuesday - Stage 16 finish into Bourg-Saint-Maurice 96km

Following a leisurely breakfast we will head out to climb the Cormet de Roseland (1,968m) stopping for lunch before descending down into Bourg to watch the stage finish. The option to transfer or ride back across the Cormet de Roseland to the hotel will be provided (ride distance out and back 96km).

Wednesday - Stage 17 finish into Le Grand-Bornard 106km

We start the day with a short climb (9km) to the Col des Saisies (1,655m) and set up to watch the race before traversing across the valley via the Col des Aravis (1,498m) and descending to Le Grand-Bornard for the stage finish. After the stage there is the option to ride back as the sun sets over the Aravis mountain range or transfer directly back to the hotel (ride distance out and back 106km).

Thursday - Stage 18 Annecy (40km ITT )

A picturesque 40km-loop around the lake of Annecy gives the Tour's time trial specialists their last chance to gain time on the climbers and we will be there to watch the action. Transfer (approx 1 hour) after the ITT to Geneva for flights departing 21.00 onwards.
